Multivac - Multi-Lane Conveyor

• Sorting and diverting products into multiple packaging lines.
• Accumulating and buffering products between processing stages.
• Distributing products to different workstations or inspection points.
• Integrating with upstream processing machinery and downstream packaging equipment.

Typical capacity

Throughput for this class of equipment commonly ranges from 50 to 200 items per minute per lane, depending on product size and system configuration.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with varying amperage based on motor size and number of lanes.

Number of lanes

Multi-lane conveyors commonly feature between 2 and 8 independent lanes, though custom configurations can vary.

Belt material

Belts are typically made from food-grade materials such as PU (polyurethane) or PVC (polyvinyl chloride), suitable for washdown environments.

Frame construction

The frame is commonly constructed from stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316 grade) for hygiene and durability in food processing settings.

Footprint

The footprint varies significantly with the number of lanes and overall length; buyers should contact the seller for exact dimensions of this unit.

• What types of products can a multi-lane conveyor handle?

These conveyors are suitable for a wide range of individually packaged or unpackaged food items, including trays, pouches, cartons, and various solid products, provided they are stable on the belt.

• Is this unit suitable for washdown environments?

• Can the lane configuration be adjusted?

• What maintenance is typically required for a multi-lane conveyor?

• What kind of integration options are available for this type of conveyor?

Buyers typically value conveyor systems for their reliability and longevity when well-maintained. Key considerations when purchasing used units include belt condition, motor functionality, frame integrity, and available spare parts. Industry sentiment emphasises the importance of verifying operational history and cleanliness standards, particularly for food handling applications. Common strengths include robust construction, relatively straightforward maintenance requirements, and cost savings versus new equipment. Reputable manufacturers' models tend to hold their value well and integrate readily into existing production lines.
