Sew-Eurodrive Conveyor Belt Gearbox Motor

• Moving products along assembly lines in manufacturing plants.
• Transporting bulk materials such as aggregates, grains, or powders.
• Facilitating packaging processes in food and beverage production.
• Sorting and distribution in logistics and warehousing operations.
• Waste material handling and recycling facilities.

Typical motor power

For this class of equipment, motor power commonly ranges from 0.18 kW to 0.75 kW, suitable for light to medium-duty conveyor applications.

Gearbox type

The WA20 designation indicates a shaft-mounted helical worm gear unit, offering a compact design and efficient power transmission.

Output speed

Output speeds are typically determined by the gear ratio and motor speed, commonly ranging from 10 to 200 RPM for conveyor applications.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly operate on a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz in the UK.

Mounting position

Shaft-mounted gearmotors offer versatile mounting options directly onto the conveyor drive shaft, reducing the need for additional couplings.

Enclosure protection

Typically, these units come with an IP54 or IP55 rating, providing protection against dust ingress and splashing water.

• What does 'DRN63MS4' signify?

DRN63MS4 is a specific Sew-Eurodrive motor designation. 'DRN' indicates the motor series, '63' refers to the frame size, 'M' suggests a specific motor length, and 'S4' denotes a 4-pole motor, which typically runs at around 1500 RPM at 50Hz.

• Is this unit suitable for continuous operation?

• What maintenance is typically required for this type of gearmotor?

• Can the output speed be adjusted?

• What should I consider when replacing an existing gearmotor with this unit?

Buyers typically value conveyor systems for their reliability and longevity when well-maintained. Key considerations when purchasing used units include belt condition, motor functionality, frame integrity, and available spare parts. Industry sentiment emphasises the importance of verifying operational history and cleanliness standards, particularly for food handling applications. Common strengths include robust construction, relatively straightforward maintenance requirements, and cost savings versus new equipment. Reputable manufacturers' models tend to hold their value well and integrate readily into existing production lines.
