Ulma SPH 1X

• Packaging fresh produce such as broccoli, other vegetables, and fruits.
• Wrapping bakery products like bread, cakes, and pastries.
• Sealing confectionery items including chocolates and sweets.
• Packaging non-food items such as small components or consumer goods.
• Creating protective seals for various products requiring clear film enclosure.

Typical throughput

For this class of flow wrapper, speeds commonly range from 40 to 120 packs per minute, depending on product size and film type.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase electrical supply, often 400V, 50Hz, with varying amperage requirements.

Film compatibility

This machine is specified for clear shrinkable film, commonly polyolefin or PVC, suitable for form-fill-seal applications.

Infeed length

The 12-foot infeed conveyor suggests suitability for manual loading or integration with upstream automated feeding systems.

Product dimensions

The adjustable folding box indicates flexibility for a range of product sizes, which would need to be confirmed with the seller for specific limits.

Footprint

A combined flow wrapper and shrink tunnel system, especially with a 12-foot infeed, will require a significant linear footprint in a production facility.

• What is a flow wrapper?

A flow wrapper is a horizontal form-fill-seal machine that creates a continuous bag around a product from a roll of film, sealing it along the bottom and at both ends.

• What maintenance is typically required for such equipment?

• Is training usually needed to operate this type of machinery?

Form-fill-seal machines hold strong reputations in food packaging for reliability and consistent output. Buyers typically prioritise machines with clear maintenance histories and verified production specifications. Key strengths include versatility across film types and product formats, alongside relatively straightforward operation. When purchasing used units, inspectors should examine seal quality consistency, film tracking accuracy, and the condition of heating elements. Machines from established manufacturers generally command buyer confidence. Downtime for repairs is a common concern, so availability of spare parts and technical support merits careful consideration before acquisition.
