Trolley/Feed Table

• Used for temporary storage and transport of ingredients or semi-finished products within a food processing facility.
• Functions as a mobile workstation for preparation tasks, allowing ingredients to be moved to different processing areas.
• Provides a hygienic surface for handling food items, reducing the risk of contamination.
• Facilitates ergonomic loading and unloading of processing machinery, acting as a feed table.

Typical construction material

Units of this type are commonly constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316) for hygiene and durability.

Mobility

Typically mounted on swivel castors, often with braking mechanisms, for ease of movement and secure positioning.

Deck features

This unit features a mesh base for drainage, which is beneficial for wet ingredients or washdown procedures. Other units may have solid or perforated decks.

Load capacity

For this class of equipment, typical load capacities can range from 50kg to 200kg, depending on construction and castor rating.

Height adjustability

While this specific unit has a fixed height, some feed tables offer adjustable height mechanisms for ergonomic customisation.

Maintenance requirements

Generally low maintenance, primarily requiring regular cleaning and occasional inspection of castors and welds.

• What are the benefits of a stainless steel trolley in food processing?

Stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, is easy to clean and sanitise, and meets stringent hygiene standards required in food environments.

• How do I determine if the trolley's dimensions are suitable for my operation?

• Is a mesh base suitable for all types of food products?

• What should I check when buying a used mobile trolley?

• Are these trolleys typically certified for food contact?

Food processing work tables are valued for durability and hygiene compliance. Buyers typically prioritize stainless steel construction, which resists corrosion and withstands frequent cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspecting surface condition for damage or staining is essential, along with verifying stability of legs and joints. Industry sentiment reflects appreciation for robust build quality and ease of maintenance. Second-hand units often represent strong value, provided they meet food safety standards and structural integrity remains sound.
