Siat - Static Box Taper

• Sealing corrugated cardboard boxes in packaging lines.
• Preparing goods for dispatch in e-commerce and logistics operations.
• Securing cartons in manufacturing and assembly environments.
• Packaging food products in non-washdown areas.
• General purpose box sealing in warehouses and distribution centres.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, typically 10-20 boxes per minute, depending on operator efficiency and box size.

Suitable box dimensions

Commonly accommodates boxes with widths from 100mm to 500mm and heights from 100mm to 500mm. Length is typically unlimited.

Tape width compatibility

Typically designed for 50mm wide adhesive tape, though some units may support 75mm.

Power supply

Most static box tapers are manually operated or require a standard single-phase 230V, 50Hz electrical supply for powered conveyors or drives.

Footprint

A static unit typically requires a floor space of approximately 800mm x 800mm, plus operator working area.

Construction material

Commonly constructed from painted mild steel or stainless steel for enhanced durability.

• What is the difference between a static and a semi-automatic box taper?

A static box taper typically requires the operator to push the box through the taping heads. A semi-automatic unit often features powered side belts that automatically convey the box through the machine once initiated.

• Can this unit handle different box sizes?

• What type of tape does it use?

• Is operator training required?

• What maintenance is typically involved?

Strapping equipment remains reliable for securing packaged goods across food processing operations. Buyers typically value machines offering consistent tension control, minimal downtime, and straightforward maintenance. When purchasing used units, inspectors should assess wear on strapping heads, motor function, and sensor calibration. Industry sentiment favours equipment with proven track records in high-volume environments. Key strengths include durability, energy efficiency, and compatibility with various film types. Proper mechanical condition and operational history are essential considerations for cost-effective procurement.
