Typical throughput

For this class of flow wrapper, speeds commonly range from 40 to 120 packs per minute, depending on product size and film type.

Power supply

Units of this type typically operate on a single-phase 220-240V supply, with power consumption commonly around 3-5 kW.

Product dimensions

Flow wrappers are generally adaptable, accommodating products with varying lengths, widths, and heights, often up to 100-150mm in height and 200-300mm in width.

Film materials

Commonly uses heat-sealable films such as BOPP, laminates, and some biodegradable films.

Infeed system

Units often feature flighted infeed conveyors, typically 2 to 4 metres in length, for precise product spacing and feeding.

Footprint

A flow wrapper with an infeed conveyor typically requires a floor space of approximately 4-6 metres in length and 1.5-2 metres in width.

• What maintenance is typically required for a used flow wrapper?

Regular maintenance commonly involves checking and lubricating moving parts, inspecting belts and seals for wear, and ensuring electrical connections are secure. Film cutting blades and sealing jaws may require periodic replacement.

• What should I consider when buying a used flow wrapper?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
