Grasso RC411 Compressor

• Industrial refrigeration systems requiring efficient compression of refrigerants.
• Food processing plants for chilling and freezing applications.
• Large-scale cold storage facilities to maintain low temperatures.
• Chemical and pharmaceutical industries for process cooling.
• Breweries and distilleries for temperature control during production.

Compressor type

Typically a screw compressor, known for continuous operation and high efficiency.

Refrigerant compatibility

Units of this model class are commonly designed for various refrigerants, including Freon types as mentioned.

Cooling capacity

For this class of equipment, cooling capacities typically range from several hundred kW to over a megawatt, depending on the specific configuration and refrigerant.

Power supply

Commonly requires a robust industrial three-phase electrical supply, typically 400V or 480V, 50Hz or 60Hz.

Motor power

Motor power for these units can typically range from 75 kW to over 300 kW, depending on the required capacity.

Footprint

Skid-mounted units are designed for easier installation but still require significant floor space, typically several square metres.

Control system

While this specific unit is offered without a control panel, units of this type typically integrate with advanced PLC-based control systems for optimal operation.

• What is meant by 'Freon' in this context?

Historically, 'Freon' referred to a brand of refrigerants, often encompassing various chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) compounds. Buyers should confirm the exact refrigerant type this unit was last used with and its suitability for current regulations.

• What does 'Skid mounted' imply for installation?

• What is the significance of 'Without control panel'?

• Can this compressor be used with refrigerants other than Freon?

• What maintenance considerations are typical for a used Grasso RC411 compressor?

Used air compressors are valued for their durability and cost-effectiveness in industrial applications. Buyers typically prioritise checking maintenance history, motor condition, and tank integrity, as these significantly affect performance and longevity. Industry sentiment favours established brands known for reliability. Common strengths include robust construction, long operational lifespan when properly maintained, and substantial savings compared to new equipment. Prospective purchasers should verify pressure ratings and output capacity match their operational requirements before committing to purchase.
