Ktron Soder Screw feeder

• Precisely dosing ingredients in food production lines.
• Controlled feeding of powders and granules in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Metering additives into plastics extrusion processes.
• Batching dry materials in chemical processing applications.
• Regulated delivery of bulk solids in construction material production.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, hoppers commonly range from 50kg to 500kg, with this unit featuring a 150kg hopper.

Power supply

Units of this type typically operate on a 3-phase electrical supply, as indicated for this feeder.

Screw diameter

Common screw diameters for precision feeders like this are typically between 20mm and 60mm, with this unit having 35mm screws.

Material of construction

Feeders for food and pharmaceutical applications are commonly constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Feeding mechanism

Twin screw configurations are often used for difficult-to-handle materials, providing improved material flow and preventing bridging.

Throughput range

Throughput for screw feeders is highly variable, typically ranging from a few kg/hr to several hundred kg/hr, depending on screw design and material density.

• What types of materials can this feeder handle?

Screw feeders are generally suitable for a wide range of dry bulk solids, including powders, granules, flakes, and pellets. The twin screw design is particularly effective for cohesive or sticky materials.

• Is this unit suitable for continuous or batch feeding?

• What maintenance is typically required for a screw feeder?

• Can the screw speed be adjusted?

• What is the typical accuracy of a screw feeder?

Hoppers and feeders are valued for reliable material handling and consistent product flow in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise stainless steel construction for hygiene compliance and durability. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess internal condition for corrosion, seal integrity, and smooth operation of discharge mechanisms. Industry sentiment reflects appreciation for robust build quality and straightforward maintenance requirements. Compatibility with existing production lines and capacity specifications warrant careful verification. Well-maintained units offer strong value compared to new alternatives.
