Multivac Galaxy Tray Sealer

• Packaging of fresh meat, poultry, and fish products in retail-ready trays.
• Sealing of prepared meals, salads, and convenience foods for extended shelf life.
• Packaging of baked goods and confectionery items in protective trays.
• Sealing of non-food items in trays requiring a hermetic or modified atmosphere seal.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput can vary significantly based on tray size and film type, but semi-automatic tray sealers commonly achieve cycles suitable for medium-volume production.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a three-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with a compressed air connection for pneumatic functions.

Tray materials

Commonly handles a variety of tray materials including PP, PET, CPET, aluminium, and pulp-based trays, depending on the specific tooling and sealing parameters.

Film types

Typically compatible with a range of lidding films, including barrier films, anti-fog films, and peelable films, for various product requirements.

Footprint

Semi-automatic tray sealers like the TS355 Galaxy typically have a compact footprint, making them suitable for operations with limited floor space.

Sealing technology

Units of this model commonly utilise heat sealing technology, often with options for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) to extend product shelf life.

• What is the typical lead time for acquiring tooling for specific tray sizes?

Lead times for custom tooling can vary, but buyers should anticipate several weeks for design, manufacture, and delivery. It is advisable to discuss specific requirements with the seller.

• Can this machine be integrated into an existing production line?

• What kind of maintenance is typically required for a Multivac TS355 Galaxy?

• Is training usually provided for operating this type of equipment?

• What are the common spare parts that buyers should consider stocking?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
