OCME

• Packaging lines for beverages, forming trays or wrap-around cases for PET bottles.
• Food processing facilities requiring automated secondary packaging for various products.
• Pharmaceutical and chemical industries for efficient case packing of rigid containers.
• Logistics and distribution centres needing high-speed, consistent product collation and casing.

Typical throughput

Units in this class are commonly rated for up to 60 cycles per minute, depending on product and pack configuration.

Power supply

Typically requires a three-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with appropriate power consumption for its operational speed.

Case type

Designed for wrap-around cases or tray forming, suitable for various carton board types.

Product compatibility

This type of machine is generally adaptable for various rigid containers, with change parts specific to bottle dimensions.

Footprint

For this class of equipment, a significant operational footprint is typically required, including infeed and outfeed conveyors.

Automation level

Fully automatic operation is standard for modern wrap-around case packers, reducing manual intervention.

• What is a wrap-around case packer?

A wrap-around case packer forms a flat cardboard blank around a pre-grouped product, gluing it to create a tight, protective case or tray. This differs from top-load case packers that drop products into pre-formed cases.

• Are change parts expensive or hard to source?

• What kind of maintenance does this equipment typically require?

• Can this machine handle different product sizes?

• Is installation complex for a used machine?

Case packers are valued for their ability to automate repetitive boxing tasks, improving throughput and consistency across food production lines. Buyers typically prioritize machines in good mechanical condition, with accessible spare parts availability and clear maintenance histories. Industry sentiment favours models from established manufacturers known for durability. Key considerations when purchasing used units include verifying operational status, checking for wear on conveyor systems and gripper mechanisms, and confirming compatibility with existing line specifications. Reliable case packers offer significant labour cost savings and production efficiency gains.
