• Automating the stacking of products onto pallets in warehousing and distribution centres.
• Streamlining end-of-line packaging processes in manufacturing facilities.
• Improving efficiency and reducing manual labour in logistics operations.
• Handling various product types, from boxes and bags to crates, for palletisation.
• Integrating with conveyor systems for continuous product flow onto pallets.

Typical capacity

Pallet loaders for industrial use typically handle up to 60-120 items per minute, depending on product size and stacking pattern.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz, with varying amperage requirements.

Pallet dimensions

Most industrial pallet loaders are designed to accommodate standard Euro pallets (1200x800mm) and UK Chep pallets (1200x1000mm).

Maximum stack height

For this class of equipment, maximum stack heights commonly range from 1800mm to 2500mm, including the pallet.

Footprint

The footprint for a typical pallet loader can vary significantly but often requires a floor area of at least 4m x 3m, plus space for infeed and outfeed conveyors.

Control system

Modern pallet loaders typically feature PLC-based control systems, often with a HMI for operator interface and program selection.

• What types of products can a pallet loader handle?

Pallet loaders are versatile and can typically handle a wide range of products including cartons, cases, bags, sacks, and trays, provided they are stable for stacking.

• Is specialist training required to operate a pallet loader?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used pallet loader?

• Can a pallet loader be integrated into an existing production line?

• What safety features are commonly found on these machines?

Used palletizers are valued for their durability and cost efficiency compared to new equipment. Buyers typically appreciate their ability to handle high-volume throughput whilst reducing labour demands. When purchasing used units, key considerations include verifiable service history, mechanical condition of stacking arms, and compatibility with existing production lines. Industry sentiment favours machines from established manufacturers known for robust engineering. Potential issues centre on wear in hydraulic systems and gripper mechanisms, making thorough pre-purchase inspection essential.
