Qiagen - Qiagility PCR Prep System
This listing is for a Qiagen Qiagility PCR Prep System.
The unit is in full working condition and is ready for immediate release.
The Qiagen QIAgility Automated PCR Prep System provides users with a fully automated PCR setup, responsive software, and increased productivity. This compact, bench-top liquid handling robot eliminates the need for manual pipetting steps, with high precision and reproducibility. The Qiagen QIAgility uses Qiagen PCR kits and step-by-step guided software to automatically calculate all mixes and worktable set up so you won’t need to program pipetting steps. This PCR prep system uses a single-channel pipetting head with dynamic liquid level sensing and supports almost any kind of thermal cycler and lab ware.
HEPA filter: Preinstalled dual-cartridge 3M Air-Mate HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter system provides positive pressure clean air within the closed hood.
Liquid-level sensing: Minimum detection volume (10 µl in 200 µl PCR tubes). Only functional in combination with QIAGEN Conductive Filtered Tips.

- Preparation of reaction plates for pathogen detection and gene expression studies.
- Standardisation of liquid handling for improved reproducibility in genomic workflows.
Typical Specifications
- Typical throughput
- Automates setup for a range of PCR plates and tubes, commonly handling up to 96-well or 384-well formats depending on the specific configuration and adaptors used.
- Pipetting precision
- For this class of equipment, precision is typically high, often with CV <1% for volumes 5-200 µl and CV <10% for volumes as low as 1 µl, ensuring accurate reagent dispensing.
- Deck capacity
- Commonly features multiple SBS-standard positions for adaptors, tip racks, master mix blocks, and reagent blocks, allowing for flexible assay setup.
- Liquid level sensing
- Units of this type typically incorporate dynamic liquid level sensing, with minimum detection volumes commonly around 10 µl in standard PCR tubes, requiring conductive filtered tips.
- Contamination control
- Often includes integrated features such as a UV lamp for worktable decontamination and a HEPA filter system to maintain a clean working environment.
- Power supply
- Typically operates on standard laboratory power, commonly 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
- Footprint
- Designed as a compact bench-top unit, suitable for integration into most laboratory spaces without requiring extensive dedicated area.
