Siat Case Taper

• Sealing corrugated cardboard boxes in packaging lines.
• Automating the closure of filled cases in manufacturing facilities.
• Securing packages for shipment in distribution centres.
• Use in food processing for secondary packaging of products.
• General industrial applications requiring consistent case sealing.

Typical throughput

Units of this type commonly process 10-20 cases per minute, depending on case size and operator efficiency.

Power supply

Siat case tapers typically operate on a standard single-phase industrial power supply, commonly 230V, 50Hz in the UK.

Case dimensions

For this class of equipment, typical minimum and maximum case dimensions are handled, with specific ranges varying by model variant. Buyers should confirm exact ranges with the seller.

Tape width

Units are commonly configured for 50mm or 75mm adhesive tape, with interchangeable tape heads often available.

Footprint

A Siat SM8 typically requires a floor space of approximately 1.5m x 1m, plus space for infeed and outfeed conveyors.

Construction material

The frame is typically constructed from painted steel, suitable for general industrial environments.

• What type of tape does a Siat SM8 use?

The Siat SM8 typically uses pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, either polypropylene (BOPP) or PVC, in standard widths such as 50mm or 75mm.

• Is this machine suitable for random case sizes?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used case taper?

• Can this unit be integrated into an existing packaging line?

• What are the common wear parts on a Siat SM8?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
