Unknown - U Shaped Conveyor

• Transferring bulk ingredients or finished products within a processing line.
• Moving items around corners or between different processing stages in a compact footprint.
• Integrating with other machinery such as mixers, fillers, or packaging equipment.
• Handling a variety of dry, granular, or small-piece food products.
• Creating buffer zones or accumulation points in a production flow.

Typical throughput

Typically dependent on belt speed and product density, commonly ranging from 500 kg/hr to 2000 kg/hr for this class of equipment.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly operate on a 400V, 3-phase, 50Hz supply, though single-phase options may exist for smaller models.

Construction material

Typically constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316) for hygiene and corrosion resistance in food processing environments.

Belt material

Commonly uses food-grade PVC, PU, or modular plastic belts, selected based on product characteristics and temperature requirements.

Footprint

The U-shape design allows for efficient use of space, typically fitting into production lines where straight conveyors are not feasible due to layout constraints.

Maintenance requirements

Generally low, involving routine cleaning, belt tension checks, and lubrication of bearings as per manufacturer guidelines.

• What types of products are suitable for a U-shaped conveyor?

U-shaped conveyors are generally suitable for a wide range of dry, granular, or small-piece food products. Suitability depends on the belt type and product characteristics like stickiness or fragility.

• How does a U-shaped conveyor differ from a standard straight conveyor?

• Is this conveyor easy to clean for food safety standards?

• Can the speed of the conveyor be adjusted?

• What are the typical safety features on such equipment?

Buyers typically value conveyor systems for their reliability and longevity when well-maintained. Key considerations when purchasing used units include belt condition, motor functionality, frame integrity, and available spare parts. Industry sentiment emphasises the importance of verifying operational history and cleanliness standards, particularly for food handling applications. Common strengths include robust construction, relatively straightforward maintenance requirements, and cost savings versus new equipment. Reputable manufacturers' models tend to hold their value well and integrate readily into existing production lines.
