Petroncini T60

• Used by medium to large-scale coffee producers for roasting green coffee beans.
• Suitable for artisan coffee shops and micro-roasteries looking to expand production.
• Integrated into coffee processing lines for consistent batch roasting.
• Utilised in food manufacturing facilities for producing roasted coffee products.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, batch capacities commonly range from 60kg to 90kg per roast cycle.

Roasting method

Indirect hot air, providing consistent heat distribution and control over the roasting profile.

Fuel type

Typically gas-fired, offering efficient and controllable heat for the roasting process.

Cooling system

Units of this type commonly feature an integrated cooling tray to rapidly cool roasted beans and prevent over-roasting.

Ancillary equipment

Often supplied with a green bean loader and cyclone for efficient operation and chaff collection.

Footprint

Requires a significant industrial footprint, typically needing dedicated space for the roaster, cooling tray, and associated equipment.

Power supply

Commonly requires a three-phase electrical supply for motors and controls, alongside a gas connection.

• What are the benefits of an indirect hot air roaster?

Indirect hot air roasters provide a more even heat transfer to the coffee beans, reducing the risk of scorching and allowing for greater control over the roast profile. This typically results in a more consistent and flavourful product.

• What maintenance is typically required for a roaster of this type?

• Can this roaster handle different types of coffee beans?

• Is specialist installation required?

• What is the purpose of the cyclone?

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
