Watson Marlow - 520S Peristaltic Pump
This listing is for a Watson Marlow 520S Peristaltic Pump. (1 of 7 Available)
The unit is in full working condition and is ready for immediate release.
Peristaltic pumps are the simplest possible pump, with no valves, seals or glands to
clog or corrode. The fluid contacts only the bore of a tube, eliminating the risk of the
pump contaminating the fluid, or the fluid contaminating the pump. Peristaltic
pumps can operate dry without risk.
Easy to install, simple to operate and inexpensive to maintain, peristaltic pumps are ideal for most fluids, including viscous, shear-sensitive, corrosive and abrasive fluids, and those containing suspended solids. Suitable for metering, dosing and dispensing applications.
520S drive offers manual control via a large-key membrane keypad: speed adjustment; run and stop; forward/reverse; "Max" key for rapid priming and purging.
Supply voltage/frequency: 100-120V/200-240V 50/60Hz
Flow rates from 4 micro-litres/min up to 2.4 liter/min
Precise 2,200:1 speed control range from 0.1 to 220 rpm in 0.1 rpm increments
Large speed/flow display and easy to use tactile membrane keypad. Incorporates keypad lock
Manual control and flow rate calibration
MemoDose for accurate single shot dispensing

Applications & Use Cases
- Precision dosing and metering in laboratory and pilot plant settings.
- Transfer of shear-sensitive biological fluids and cell cultures.
- Handling of corrosive chemicals and abrasive slurries in industrial processes.
- Dispensing of viscous liquids in food and beverage production.
- Sterile fluid transfer in pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing.
Typical Specifications
- Typical flow rate range
- For this class of equipment, flow rates commonly range from microlitres per minute up to several litres per minute, depending on the pumphead and tubing size.
- Speed control
- Units of this type typically offer a wide speed control range, often with fine increments for precise flow adjustment.
- Power supply
- Commonly found with universal voltage input, such as 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz, allowing for global compatibility.
- Control interface
- Typically features a membrane keypad for manual control, including speed, direction, and start/stop functions.
- Fluid contact materials
- Only the tubing contacts the fluid, with various tubing materials available to suit different chemical compatibilities and application requirements.
- Maintenance
- Maintenance is generally low, primarily involving periodic replacement of the pump tubing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Peristaltic pumps offer contamination-free pumping as the fluid only contacts the tubing. They can handle a wide range of fluids, including viscous, shear-sensitive, and corrosive materials, and can run dry without damage.
