What are the benefits of flake ice?

Flake ice has a large surface area, allowing for efficient cooling. Its soft, irregular shape prevents damage to delicate products and ensures even temperature distribution.

Is this unit suitable for outdoor installation?

While the condenser might be suitable for outdoor placement, the ice drum and compressor unit typically require a sheltered, temperature-controlled environment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Buyers should confirm specific installation requirements with the seller.

What maintenance is typically required for a flake ice machine?

Regular maintenance includes cleaning the condenser coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical connections, and ensuring the ice drum is free from scale build-up. A professional service schedule is recommended.

Can this machine be integrated into an existing processing line?

Yes, flake ice machines are often integrated into larger processing lines, feeding ice directly to mixers, chillers, or storage hoppers. The exact integration requirements depend on the existing setup and the unit's discharge height.

What is meant by 'removed working'?

'Removed working' indicates that the machine was operational when decommissioned. However, buyers should still arrange for a thorough inspection and testing to confirm its current condition and functionality.

Typical capacity: Flake ice machines in this class commonly produce around 800 kg per 24 hours.
Power supply: Units of this type typically require a 3-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V/50Hz.
Refrigerant type: Modern units often use HFC refrigerants; buyers should confirm the specific type with the seller.
Ice type: This model is specified to produce flake ice, known for its rapid cooling and gentle nature.
Footprint: A package unit with a separate compressor and condenser will require a dedicated plant room space; exact dimensions should be obtained from the seller.
Cooling method: Condensers for this class of equipment are typically air-cooled or water-cooled; this unit's condenser should be confirmed.

Flake ice has a large surface area, allowing for efficient cooling. Its soft, irregular shape prevents damage to delicate products and ensures even temperature distribution.

Industrial chillers are valued for reliable temperature control in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise units with consistent cooling capacity and minimal maintenance history when purchasing used equipment. Key considerations include compressor condition, refrigerant type compatibility, and ease of spare parts availability. Industry sentiment favours models from established manufacturers known for durability. Common strengths include energy efficiency improvements in newer models and adaptability to various production scales. Proper installation and routine servicing remain essential for long-term performance.
