Golden Roasters GR15

• Small to medium-scale coffee roasting operations.
• Speciality coffee shops looking to roast their own beans.
• Pilot plants for coffee product development.
• Artisan food producers expanding into coffee.

Typical batch capacity

Units in this class commonly handle batch sizes around 10-15kg.

Heating source

Often configured for LPG or natural gas, providing efficient heat for roasting.

Power supply

Typically requires a single-phase electrical connection (220-240V, 50-60Hz) for motors and controls.

Cooling system

Many models feature integrated cooling trays, allowing simultaneous roasting and cooling.

Chaff collection

External cyclone systems are commonly supplied for efficient chaff separation.

Motor and gearbox

For this class of equipment, robust, often European-sourced, motors and gearboxes are typical.

Bearings

Long-life bearings are a common feature to ensure durability and reduce maintenance.

• What is the typical footprint of a roaster like the GR15?

While specific dimensions vary, roasters of this capacity generally require a floor space of approximately 1.5m x 1m, plus space for the external cyclone and ventilation.

• What kind of ventilation is required for a coffee roaster?

• Is installation complex for a unit of this type?

• What maintenance is generally needed for a used coffee roaster?

• Can this type of roaster be converted to run on natural gas?

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
