Marel Carnitech Fish Salter

• Used in fish processing plants for uniform salting of various fish species.
• Applicable in facilities preparing fish for further processing such as smoking, drying, or canning.
• Utilised by seafood producers aiming to extend product shelf life through brining or dry salting.
• Suitable for operations requiring consistent salt application for flavour enhancement and preservation.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput can vary significantly, typically ranging from several hundred kilograms to over a tonne per hour, depending on fish type and desired salt uptake.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 3-phase industrial power supply, typically 400V, 50Hz, with specific amperage requirements varying by motor size and auxiliary components.

Material construction

Machinery Masters typically sees these units constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., AISI 304 or 316) for hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Salting method

Commonly employs either dry salting via a dosing system or wet salting/brining, often with adjustable parameters for salt concentration and application.

Footprint

The physical footprint for a Marel Carnitech fish salter can vary, but typically requires a dedicated area of several square metres, often integrated into a larger processing line.

Control system

Units commonly feature an integrated control panel, often with a PLC and HMI, for setting and monitoring salting parameters.

• What types of fish can this machine process?

A Marel Carnitech fish salter is typically versatile and can process a wide range of fish species, including fillets, whole fish, or portions, depending on the specific configuration and size of the unit.

• Is this unit suitable for both dry salting and brining?

• What are the typical maintenance requirements for a fish salter?

• Can the salt application rate be adjusted?

• What safety features are commonly found on these machines?

Fish equipment in food processing is generally well-regarded for durability and reliability when maintained properly. Buyers typically value robust construction and ease of cleaning. When purchasing used fish processing equipment, buyers should inspect for corrosion, verify mechanical functionality, and confirm hygiene compliance standards. Common strengths include longevity with proper maintenance, straightforward operation, and cost effectiveness compared to new alternatives. Stainless steel components and established brand reliability are frequently prioritized considerations in the secondhand market.
