Petroncini TTA60

• Roasting various types of coffee beans for commercial sale.
• Processing specialty coffee batches requiring precise temperature control.
• Producing roasted coffee for wholesale distribution or retail outlets.
• Integrating into larger coffee processing and packaging lines.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 60 kg to 120 kg per batch, depending on the specific model variant and desired roast profile.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a three-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, for motors and controls, in addition to a natural gas or LPG supply for the burner.

Heating method

Petroncini TTA series roasters are typically indirect hot air roasters, providing consistent and controllable heat transfer to the beans.

Footprint

A complete roasting line, including roaster, cooling tray, cyclone, and afterburner, will require a significant industrial footprint, typically several square metres, with adequate ventilation and access for maintenance.

Control system

Modern commercial roasters like the TTA60 commonly feature PLC controls for automated roasting profiles, temperature management, and safety interlocks.

Fuel type

This specific unit is noted to run on natural gas; however, other units in this range may be configurable for LPG or other fuel sources.

• What is an indirect hot air roaster?

An indirect hot air roaster heats air in a separate chamber before it comes into contact with the coffee beans. This method typically offers more even heat distribution and reduces the risk of scorching, resulting in a cleaner roast profile.

• Why is an afterburner included in a coffee roasting line?

• What maintenance is typically required for a coffee roaster of this size?

• Can this roaster handle different types of coffee beans?

• What are PLC controls in a coffee roaster?

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
