What maintenance is typically required for a Probat GN12?

Regular cleaning of the roasting drum, cooling tray, and chaff collector is essential. Burner maintenance and checking electrical connections should also be part of a routine schedule.

Can this roaster be used with different types of gas?

Units are typically configured for either natural gas (methane) or LPG (propane/butane). Conversion kits or burner replacements are often available to switch between gas types, but this requires professional installation and certification.

What are the typical ventilation requirements?

A dedicated exhaust system is crucial to remove smoke and fumes from the roasting process. This typically includes ducting to an external vent and may require a separate fan.

Is training usually required to operate this equipment?

Yes, operating a coffee roaster effectively requires training in roasting principles, profile development, and machine operation to achieve consistent results and ensure safety.

What is the expected lifespan of a Probat GN12?

With proper maintenance and care, Probat roasters are known for their robust construction and can have an operational lifespan of several decades.
