What is the significance of the 'UG' designation in Probat roasters?

The 'UG' series from Probat typically refers to their traditional drum roasters, known for their robust construction and consistent roasting capabilities.

What maintenance is typically required for a used Probat UG15?

Regular maintenance commonly involves cleaning the roasting drum, cyclone, and cooling tray, checking burner efficiency, and lubricating moving parts. Gaskets and bearings may require periodic inspection and replacement.

Can this roaster be automated?

While fundamentally a manual roaster, units of this type can often be retrofitted with basic temperature probes and data logging systems for improved roast consistency and profile tracking.

What are the benefits of a separate green bean loader and cyclone?

A separate green bean loader streamlines the charging process, improving efficiency. The cyclone is crucial for separating chaff from the exhaust air, maintaining air quality and reducing fire risk.

Is installation complex for a roaster of this size?

Installation typically requires professional connection to gas and electrical supplies, as well as proper ventilation and exhaust ducting. Buyers should consult with qualified technicians for setup.
