Typical capacity

For this model, a batch capacity of approximately 23kg of green coffee is typical, suitable for medium-scale production.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a three-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, to power the drum motor, fans, and heating elements.

Heating method

Gothot roasters, including this model, often utilise indirect heat, commonly gas-fired, for precise temperature control during the roasting process.

Cooling system

An integrated cooling tray with an agitator and fan is typically present to rapidly cool roasted beans and prevent over-roasting.

Construction material

Robust construction, often featuring cast iron and heavy-gauge steel, is characteristic of vintage Gothot units for durability and heat retention.

Controls

Manual controls for drum speed, airflow, and burner intensity are commonly found, allowing for skilled operator input to achieve desired roast profiles.

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
